On April 13th, the municipality of Rijswijk (represented by alderman Mr. Armand van de Laar), BPS Real Estate (Stefan Fieten) and reBirth Development (Nanne Veenstra) signed a letter of intent for the development of “De Landtong” on Nijverheidsstraat in the Havenkwartier, bringing the project one step closer to realization. Havenkwartier is part of the Plaspoelpolder in Rijswijk, adjacent to the city of The Hague.

The real estate development companies recently joined forces to make a contribution to enliven the Havenkwartier with a new development on Nijverheidsstraat. They’re planning to build 128 owner-occupied homes, commercial facilities and a parking garage. With a direct location to the water, it will become an attractive place to live, work and relax.

Armand van de Laar adds: “The Havenkwartier is being renovated and that’s urgently needed. We’re transforming many vacant spaces into useful and beautiful living and working areas. I am very pleased that in addition to the many new rental homes in the Havenkwartier, these owner-occupied homes are also being built. It’s important that an active group of residents come into this new environment, who together form a community. In addition, I think it’s a beautiful cool design that gives real character to the neighborhood.”

The architecture was provided by Zeinstra Verbeek Architects (The Hague). Studio Hartzema (Rotterdam) took care of the urban aspects.
